ISCTEM establishes partnerships with IPAJ and TVM

A memorandum of understanding was initialed in Maputo between the Mozambican Higher Institute of Science and Technology (ISCTEM), the Institute for Sponsorship and Legal Assistance (IPAJ) and the Mozambican Television (TVM).

The initiative, which took place at ISCTEM's University Campus, aims to promote the growth of legal culture and the improvement of the conditions of access to justice by Mozambican citizens, especially those in need. For To this end, specific programs will be created to be broadcast by TVM, with emphasis on the “Justice Tent”, where citizens will be heard, assisted and trained.

Also within the scope of this agreement, the final students of the ISCTEM Law Course will undertake internships for their practical training in order to raise awareness of their social responsibility to bring their knowledge as legal professionals and citizens. To this end, IPAJ should accredit them so that they are able to provide sponsorship and legal assistance to underprivileged citizens.
The objectives of the memorandum also include the conception, organization and implementation of vocational training courses and civic education activities in specific areas of law, for the benefit of the signatory parties and citizens in general.

It is also foreseen the creation of the necessary conditions and infrastructures to achieve the objectives of this partnership.
Meanwhile, from ISCTEM, the agreement was initialed by the Director General, Maomede Naguib Omar, and from IPAJ, the respective Director General, Justino Ernesto Tonela. TVM was represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Faruco Sadique and the Executive Director of this television channel, Cláudio Ilídio Jone.

Other members of the three partner institutions also attended the meeting.
